Climate change is causing increasingly intense and frequent heatwaves across Bangladesh. In rural areas, most homes are tin-roofed, which traps extreme heat and creates unbearable living conditions for residents. Despite its widespread impact, this issue remains largely overlooked.

Our Policy Proposal: Solar-Integrated Cool Roofing

We are exploring solar-integrated cool roofing solutions with three key objectives:

• Reduce indoor temperatures to make homes more liveable
• Generate renewable solar energy to lower household energy costs
• Feed surplus electricity back into the national grid to support broader energy resilience
